The mission of the Graduate Assembly is to improve the lives of University of California, Berkeley graduate students and to foster a vibrant, inclusive graduate student community. Spouses or partners of graduate students are invited to all graduate assembly events.
Berkeley Wives is for women who leave their home country behind to accompany their partners to study and do research at UC Berkeley or whose partners are studying or researching here.
Creating a Fulfilling Life in America facebook group/Intercultural Coffee Hour
Yvonne organizes weekly intercultural coffee hours. Please request access to her facebook group in order to join the coffee hours. They normally are scheduled for Friday mornings at Caffe Strada.
The Haas Partners Club:
Sponsored by the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business provides assistance for the significant others of MBA students. The Club offers its members the opportunity to belong to a larger network and take part in various activities. In order to join, the MBA students need to register their partners. The I-House and the University Section Club currently work together to ensure international spouses and partners of Berkeley students, scholars, faculty and other affiliates can get the support they need while they live in Berkeley. The International House also offers memberships, so that spouses and partners can experience programs at I-House even they don't live here (for example: Monday night's Salsa class, Film Series, Coffee Hours, Ritual Dinners, etc.).
University Village in Albany:
The UC village provides programming supporting international students, spouses and families and offers ongoing programs and yearly events. The program participants represent a cross-section of cultural and international diversity that includes families from 67 countries. Programs, classes and open recreation are available to children, teens and adults.
University Section Club Center:
The University Section Club, Inc. is an organization whose members are affiliated with the Berkeley Campus of the University of California. The Center meets weekly on Thursday mornings each semester from 9:30am to noon at the University YWCA at 2600 Bancroft Way. Parents can bring their young children. Coffee, tea and other refreshments are offered each week.
